Ballet 3-4 yr I  45 mins per week

This is an introduction to the world of dance through a ballet, while incorporating other styles, curriculum.  Class time will consist of engaging students in expressive exercises, listening, following directions, respecting instructors, other dancers, and the studio space.  Instructors seek to nurture a love of dance with learning exercises in a fun setting.   Music and games are used to introduce ballet and other dance techniques to the students.   

CLASS LESSON PLAN:

WARM UP (CENTER)

Warm up in circle OR spread out in personal space – Includes various games, exercises and isolation's with proper age appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises.

Group games and fun exercises consist of creative movement.   

CENTER 

BEGINNING BALLET 

Dancers will learn:

1st, 2nd and 6th position 

Demi Plie

Tendu in 6th and 1st ,

Pique in 6th

Eleve and relevé

Port de bras

Center Combination to Follow Directions

Center Games or Creative Movement like a bear hunt song.

ACROSS THE FLOOR:

Chasses

Skipping

Marching

Walking on relevé or tip toes

Walking backwards

Class will end with curtsies or bows, or a short combination with instructor leading.

Ballet 5-6 yr

Instructors use creative movement exercises while also incorporating basic ballet vocabulary.

Passé

Échappé 1st to 2nd position.

Port de Bras (5th en bas, 1st and 2nd)

Basic spotting techniques and exercises.

ACROSS THE FLOOR EXERCISES:

Gallops / Chasse

Ballet walks, runs in relevé

Run Leap (weight change one leg to the other)

Movement in other styles for development of coordination and style.

Ballet 6-8 yr | Supplement: JAZZ, HIP HOP

Warm up in lines or spread out in personal space – Includes various games, exercises and isolation's with proper age appropriate stretching and strengthening exercises. 

Light cardio such as jumping jacks, run in place, plies to get the body warm.

Warm up in lines.  Instructor will use exercises to advance torso and core alignment, rotation of the legs down to feet emphasizing plie with knees over middle toes.

Light cardio such as jumping jacks, run in place, plies to get the body warm.  

Arm Circles and body rotation to warm the torso.

Floor Stretching to increase flexibility.  

Core  /  Abdominal Strength Exercises.

Basic Foot articulation and coordination exercises.  Pointe /  Flex
